Greetings

I love to read. That’s the first thing you need to know about me. And what do I read? Romance (contemporary, historic, comedy, romantic suspense, and some paranormal). I also read mysteries. And sometimes I read other fiction.

What do I love as much as I love reading? Writing. Always have, always will.

What I haven’t done so great about, is actually writing in recent years. Thinking about writing? Done tons of that. Talking about writing? Done some of that. Dreaming about writing? All the time. Actually writing something? Especially something complete? Something that I could show someone, any one else? Yeah, I’ve managed exactly, precisely, NONE of that in at least 4 or 5 years.

I’m not here to make excuses. Let’s just say, after leaving college, I did what most of us have had to do: grow up and get a real job. And around the same time, I seem to have stopped writing, stopped finding time for writing.

Well, I’m here to say, I’ve got to find a way to write again. Without getting too philosophical, or starting to sound like a motivational speaker, I can say I’ve got find a way to balance my job, my hobbies, and writing. Because you know that old thing about dreams coming true? Well, my sure aren’t going to, unless I get up off my butt and actually write something.

I’ve spent the past year saying I need to start writing again. I’ve replacing talking about writing with talking about having to start writing again. Not exactly a productive change.

So I’m just going to do it.

A friend pointed out two writing related challenges/contests to me, and I’m going to use them as motivating factors and a way to get going again.

So, if you haven’t guessed by now, this will be my writing blog. I will be talking about my writing here.
